In my creative wanderings, I came up with a short series entitled "Latakkia," inspired by the discovery of an aged negative I captured in Latakkia, Syria, back in 2004. Guided by a profound curiosity, I invested myself on the physical intervention of the negative, recording several moments, delving into the realm of re/deconstruction. Through this process, I ponder on the profound effects that manipulating and reconstructing an image can have, not only on its aesthetic quality but also on the imprints it leaves on our perception, namely our memories. This series serves as an exploration of the relationship between image, aesthetic sensibility, and the enduring impact of our experiences.
